So I’m going to start with our sense of humor here in Sequim WA.  This is what I determined Jessee’s problem to be!  A Great Dane foot sticking out of the side of her head lol.  Just kidding of course, that’s how her brother sleeps next to her on the couch and apparently it’s just fine with her.

We got the radiology report today back from Dr. Rizzo.  It confirmed one nodule visible.  Nothing else.  Both the radiologist and Dr. Rizzo are in agreement it’s most likely a metastasis from the osteosarcoma, that nasty vile stuff grrrrr.  Her urine sample we had analyzed was clear, yay!

So on Thursday her new compounded meds to deal with this nodule arrived.  She is taking Sirolimus 4.8 mg (Rapamycin) once daily.  Two pills are in her right now cranking away.  So far everything is good.

This is how she spends the evenings, laid out on the couch with her electric blanket on low snuggled butt to butt with Jaymee.   She’s been a bit slow the last couple days but we actually had sunshine here in Sequim and she was laying outside on her elevated bed.  However, every time a bird flew over, a plane flew over or there was any noise she had to jump up and run across the yard to bark.  I think she’s just over did it.  She had a Assisi loop treatment today as well as a some nice leg massaging.  My girl wants for nothing lol.  Will keep this updated as we continue our journey. Feeling good for now!

Well looks like Jessee is going to have another battle.  We were at the vet for Accupuncture on Tuesday and noticed she had lost 3 lbs in two weeks.  Keeping upping food and we agreed to start adding olive oil to her diet.  This is in addition to the flax seed oil in her oncology diet and fish oil.  We took her back for a urine sample yesterday and our oncologist was there.  So we agreed a chest X-ray was warranted.  And unfortunately they found a small nodule.  Appears to be one.  Waiting for the radiologist to review and write a report (she has covid).  Feeling pretty crappy and devastated right now.  We are starting her on Ripamycin asap when it arrives.  So we have our fingers crossed and hoping this will slow it down and we can pack a few pounds back on her.  Trying to get my head wrapped around this.   Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Mom thought I looked absolutely stunning in this pose so wanted to share.  I got so many well wishes and happy thoughts from people yesterday.  I don’t know if we have mentioned recently or not but we are continuing with the ElleVet product we use and also feel that it has helped me maintain my warrior status!

OMG, Got up this morning and checked my calendar and noticed the 15th and it dawned on me!!  17 months ago today my Jessee became a tripawd.  Where has all the time gone?  Been loving on her every single extra day we’ve had.  She is doing so well.  She is getting accupuncture treatments every two weeks to help her neck and shoulder (from tripawd stress) as well as some rear leg help.  Has a fabulous appetite and is just doing very very well for an almost 10 year old dane (August 1st).  She still jumps up on the bed with a small stool to assist, runs and chases the birds.  Just living her life.  Here are some very recent photos from the last day or so..

And this was Jessee and Jaymee at the vet for her treatment.  She knows this is to help her.  She just lays on her comfy cushion as Dr. Allen inserts the needles and she relaxes during the session.

For anyone wondering if it’s the right thing to do to amputate a leg on a large dog.  Please read my Blog regarding Jessee.  We have had 17 months so far and counting of extra time with Jessee we never thought we’d have after the diagnosis.  She is doing so well and had adapted like the superstar she is!!

Greetings everyone!  Today is two weeks and two days after the last procedure Jessee had to remove the spindle cell soft tissue sarcoma.  And, drum roll please… she is healing up really wellWe are taking two short walks everyday to build up those rear leg muscles a bit. So nothing like a nice walk after the morning rain in the spring grass behind our house.  Easy access for me and mom and dad can keep watch for any dogs I might decide I want to try and chase. It’s my area and everyone needs to recognize that, lol. Seriously, Jessee is just doing fabulous.  We see Dr. Rizzo tomorrow for the post op check but anticipate no issues.  Her appetite is roaring strong as always.  I may have to go back to work to maintain this oncology diet for two Danes.  We go through about 6.5 lbs of it a day between the two of them :).  Just kidding but with prices these days it does add up!  She is now 15 months as a tripawd and a second cancer survivor.  She continues to amaze me everyday and even though I sleep in a S position to accommodate her, wouldn’t change it….
