Greetings from Jessee

Jessee sends her hellos and licks and wags

Se just got back from a little airstream roadtrip to Oregon.  First night was at the Columbia River where she enjoyed some fresh air!

Second night we headed down to Yachats, Oregon on the beach.  Our rehab vet Dr Finn did not think Jessee would do real well  walking in the sand as she does get tired.  So we walked along the paths and back and forth to the grass area.  She smelled the ocean and watched the people

But on day three we had a pit bull that decided to make a run at her.  Dogs are not allowed off leash but this guy pulled away from the lady.  Jessee’s dad stepped in between them and the pit went after a different dog.  But needless to say we were concerned and really didn’t feel safe after that.  Jessee was also tiring out and not wanting to hop into the truck (tow vehicle) even with the ramp.  I think it’s just a bit awkward for her and we will revamp.  So she took one final sniff

and we headed home

A few days after returning home Jessee had her fifth chemo treatment.  She did very well.  Dr Rizzo has reduced her treatment dose slightly and is trying a new anti nausea medication.  Worked pretty darn well and by the next day (Monday) Jessee was feeling good again.  One treatment to go.  In two weeks we do scans (FINGERS CROSSED)

It was a nice little get away with the two danes and two sphynx, also a bit of an adventure.  Next post, new revision to orthodic to assist her diva walk!

Swim Therapy

Greetings.  Swim therapy from Friday.  The rehab vet notes from this session stated that Jessee is “more opinionated” this session.  LOL that’s my girl.  She has some stiffness in right front leg as well as spine that we will be getting some laser treatment on.  Dr Finn said it’s common to see in a tripawd especially at her weight (109 lbs).  But overall still doing good and ready for chemo number four tomorrow.   Just for information the water is between 88-92 🙂

Jessee keeping up with the Jaymee

Hello everyone!  Today feels almost like spring here in the Pacific Northwest.  Wanted to share a short video of Jessee having a difficult time (ha ha ha) keeping up with Jaymee.  My tripawd diva has no limits.  She does what she wants to do when she wants to do it and that includes running.

Jessee continues to do very well and we are headed to swim therapy on Friday and fourth chemo on Sunday.

Feeling Good!

Greetings from Jessee

Yesterday was swim therapy and she was a bit tired afterwards but totally recovered today.  She took a very short walk, without brace, mainly for a photo op!  She loves posing in her sweaters.  It’s been 11 days since last chemo treatment.  Next one is due on March 7th and that will make 4!

Two and a half weeks after that Jessee will be taking her first airstream trip as a tripawd.  She’s been travelling in it since she was 8 months old and really likes an adventure.  It will be a bit more challenging with her homemade food but we will figure that out as we go.  She is doing really really well.   The only medications she is on is an occasional gabapaten, her daily Ellevet and her Mushroom supplements.  And everything is working great.  She loves the homemade diet.  So, just wanted to say hello to everyone and say all is well in our neck of the woods!

Swim therapy in action!

This was yesterday in Port Orchard, Washington at Dr. Finn’s enclosed walk in beach therapy pool.  Jessee is not a big fan of getting wet.  This is her third session of floating in the warm water for stretching and massage.  All the swelling in front paw is gone.  Everyone feels it’s because of the lymphatic massage she’s getting as well as the Ellevet.  She is tired after the half hour sessions but not exhuasted.  I’m thinking of taking my other dane just as “upkeep” on his 7.5 year old body.  So happy we have such a good team oif caregivers for my kids.
